If you 
want
 VisualBasic to startup with 
project
 
files
 maximized you will find that the
option under preferences doesn't work.
Just edit the registry:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Visual Basic\6.0]
"MdiMaximized=1"
