Q: Running Applications 


My problem is I can't figure out how to use the "shell" function. I
guess the shell function does not accept variables (e. shell
(variable,1) is not working.

Is there an other  way to run a application?
I mean when I click on an executable file I want to run it. I just can't
figure out how.

Another way to run files or executables is to use a associated filetype:

BTW I found this two and other resources/solutions using the Search-option on 
the site... just give it a try and you wil find more about 'SHELL' 
(also using it in VB5).
